As I was crossing the bridge I had a bit of a moment. I started calculating in my head: BC, Alberta, Sask, Man, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ontario & Quebec. Wow that’s over 10,000k. I realized I was smiling. Have to admit, it felt pretty good. Hot, tired, sore, smelly for sure, but pretty good none the less. The other good news, I was meeting Dave here in Campbeltown. He is joining me for a bit. It’s going to be great having company for a bit.
After a quick hello Dave and I decided to head to the town campground. I was planning a rest day and being in town seemed like the obvious choice. Oops, the campground did not accept tents, too dangerous the lady at the check-in said. Mmmmm, I have to admit after travelling across Canada, between being in the bush, single track, rivers, wild animals (Bears), traffic I found the idea of a town campsite being too dangerous for my tent, well, in a word, funny.
We were back on the bikes. The closest campground was 4K out of town. Turns out it’s awesome. It always works out in the end.
Rest day and resupply tomorrow. Only the Maritimes to go!!!!
