It certainly did not take long for the adventure to begin. Lana dropped me off at the airport quite early. No worries, I had time, just how I like it. I have become so familiar with travelling with my bike, check in was smooth and easy. Even had a couple of hours to kill to go for a good walk.
First sign of trouble was a flight delay. Only a half hour. I must admit when our delayed incoming flight arrived and then had to wait for the ground crew, I had a feeling it might get interesting. We were a good hour late when we pulled away from the gate. Arrival, wouldn’t you know it no ground crew. By the time we got off I was feeling for my friend Helen who came to pick me up.
This is where it gets interesting. They closed the ramp due to weather, protect the baggage handlers. A first for me I must say. After about an hour they said we were good to go. Great, get these bags and we’re off. Then 5 mins later, you guessed it closed again. That was it. I got Helen to pick me up. We drove back to her place. I had a quick bite to eat and then headed to the airport. Well, my day finished off as it would. No luggage, No baggage agent, they all went home. My impatience cost me. Now I’ve got to find my luggage. An opportunity for tomorrow.
What a start to the trip.
