Ice Cream & Chocolate Milk

Well summer has officially arrived.  Since my start in Ottawa the weathers been pretty cool.  Today all that changed.  It was clear and hot. I spent the day circling around the far outskirts of Montreal.  The route did not take me into the city and that was fine by me.  You can definitely feel the effects though.  More people around , more traffic and suburbs.

By 1:00 o’clock it was pretty darn hot.  I started thinking about ice cream and wouldn’t you know it a local dairy with lots of cool stuff showed up.  I was ready.  Two scoops of ice cream (they were USA size) and the best chocolate milk I have ever tasted.  Arriving I was certainly feeling it, bonking a little for sure, but boy o boy that did the trick.

A nice campsite just off the route showed up around three.  It was hot so I called it then and there.  And wouldn’t you know it some lovely locals invited me for a cold beer.  Great way to end the day. The Frenglish conversation was quite funny.  After finding out about my ride they were handing me $20 bills for Indspire.  How nice was that.  Tomorrow I should leave behind the outskirts of Montreal and head towards Quebec City.
