Come from Away

Quite the day.  Had another short jaunt this morning.  We were headed to Gander.  We did pass a couple of small places but since it was Sunday morning did not anticipate anything being open.

Just as we were leaving Appleton we noticed an open sign at the convenience store, bonus!  In we went.  Well wouldn’t you know it, we had a great chat with Renie and Marylee.  Once they found out about the charity they quickly made donations.  Thanks so much you two.  Not only that but they were so very kind, definitely a Newfie thing.   First giving us extra food and then beer for the road.  A little early for beer though, so I had to decline.  So nice.

It wasn’t long before we pulled into Gander.  We heard from some locals that there was a musical on “Come from Away” about all the planes that got diverted here during 9-11. What a great show.  Definitely showed the friendly and kind Newfie culture we have been experiencing.  Such a special place, The Rock.  👍👍
